Hi.
I recently purchased 3 Revox M3500/Beyer M201 Microphones and found one to be defective. Arrggh. Anyways, after unscrewing and removing the head cover I noticed a small piece of what appeared to be black electrician's tape covering the small hole in the center of the plastic capsule cover. I unscrewed the other two and removed the tape, believing this to be a "modification" the previous owner had done. Now, I got to wondering whether this is the way the mics come from the factory. If an owner of one of these mics would do me the favour of checking to see what's under the hood on their's, it would be much appreciated. In the picture you can see a little black square in the middle of the black plastic capsule cover. This is the tape I removed.
Thanks, Cam.
