So I have a friend nicole zuraitis (www.nicolezuraitis.com) who is applying for a vocal competition. These tracks are mixed but unmastered. The setup is a little different for me, and I'd like feedback on how I can improve it for next time:

Drums: Km184s for OH (didn't use my normal SF12 for variety's sake, a decision I might regret). Pre: pendulum MDP-1 for OH
Kick D112 into millennia TD-1 Komit compression, light
Snare 57 into api 512, komit compression, light

compression was kick and snare into drawmer 1968 separately, and overs through the 1968 on the way in with up to 5-6db GR

Bass is soundelux U95s into NPNG into chandler germ comp and api 5500 EQ.

piano is a big departure for me: mono AEA R84 on an old steinway with the NPNG as pre and germ comp and API 5500 eq.

Vox is telefunken AK47 into GR MP500NV into distressor, no EQ.

That's the Gear line up. all the instrumentalists were in one room, minimal gobos, and vocalist in the nearby and very classy bathroom for isolation.

http://files.me.com/owenmuir/bz939f (aif, 44.1K)

and an MP3 with a scratch vocal but still same mix settings:

all summed through RMS fulcrum into NPNG.

Any thoughts wildly appreciated.

Your friend has a helluva voice!

Other than sounding mono, I think it sounds pretty good. I can't think of anything I'd change about your setup, except maybe a more present combination on your drum overheads. Piano also sounds a little dull... Perhaps a bit "roomy". Maybe move the mic closer to the piano?

Vocal sounds fabulous!
