Im Cabling my new Racks any trade secret on how to keep the power cords away from audio(I know it sounds stupid) but how do the pros wire a studio rack and any power cord will do or is 1 better than another
best Gage? (for pre amps and compressors)

IEC power down one side and Audio down the other.

Neatly wire tie.

Break for cold beers or frustrado will rear his ugliness.

You have no idea how cool it was to burn [ehmmm, use] this rack in.

This is Ronnie V's Travel Recording Rack for the Killers. It sounds SICK!!!!!

Your success depends, in part, on how the rear panels of your equipment are laid out. Unfortunately, there is no standard as to where the power & audio connectors are located. Some gear has power on the left; other gear has it on the right; a couple things have it in the middle.

But generally, as Adam said, power up one side, audio down the other.

Yeah I bet... only my favorite preamps in the whole world, 16 channels right there in one rack. It's a thing of unearthly beauty. :)

My boss is FINALLY talking about buying us some API and I'm tingling already. I can't live without those pres.

Sorry, I guess I'm rather wildly off-topic. So, to redress the balance, in summary: mains and audio cabling separate = good. :)
