Hello All
My Name is Eric and I'm a recording engineer, there that wasn't that hard, well okay, I'm a part time engineer, Full time stay at home dad, 97% burn victim Hurricane Ike survivor former Gear pimp, out spoken Jackass, Professional Patient, but I'm here as recording engineer.
These days I do very little tracking since I have few local clients and no real tracking space, I joke that I am the very low rent CLA and that Guitar Center: My former Employer, FullCompass; and Sweetwater: keep me busy by selling everybody on the Idea they can make themselves a record! They can't and through word of mouth a few find their way to me and I try to at least make their efforts listenable, Its a noble sometimes rewarding, often frustrating endeavor.
I am here after spending years on other forums as DDAGeek because gear is unfortunately not the answer, noo that would be way to easy! This forum has been billed as a place where learning technique is more important than having the latest and greatest. Yes it is hosted buy those who wish to sell us the latest and greatest, they seam to feel that we all might better use those wares as tools not pricey toys, a novel and noble concept.
So I hope to join in these discussion ( besides while lurking I discovered you guys don't seam to take your selves to seriously and I'm sick of walking on egg shells and not offending some 12 year old who thinks a DW Fern is great Because it looks cool, Mixwell says its cool and cost more than he can dream of skimming from his lunch money. (yeah it is cool but I haven't played with one because I don't know How cool)
