I've been looking for a program, Mac Compatible and preferably free, that will allow me to insert Tracks into a large audio file. For example, I might record 30 mins of a live show, and I dont want to mix the songs down as separate files. Instead, load that 1 large file into a program and just put track markers in for each song so that a CD player can see to skip to. I'm not wanting any hard cuts of the audio file.
I'm using ProTools LE 7.3, I dont believe the solution is in Protools, I think its in a burning software.
The best solution I've found for Audio is Nero (not Mac Compatible), and was just a free trial I used to get my project done. It had an obscure feature that took a while to locate (it wasn't in any help files or manuals), but it let me just right click the wave form and put in a Track marker and edit the time.
I know that it is said that you can change the Burn style from Something to something (i can't remember the names. but basically with one, the laser will turn off after each track, and the other wont), and set the pre gap to 0 sec. I've tried this many times in iTunes and Toast. but no luck, I still get a blip in between each song.
iMovie does this also for videos, you can just create a chapter marker and then when you import to iDVD it just knows the chapter markers.
in summery,
any suggestions on how to take a live recording of many songs, mix down and burn the show to a CD where you have tracks but you cant here them?
